This course explores the theory and application of biological control of insect pests, weeds, and plant pathogens. Students examine ecological principles shaping natural enemy–pest interactions and develop analytical and scientific writing skills through literature review, discussion, and project-based learning.

An applied summer course focused on biological control within integrated pest management (IPM). Students gain hands-on experience with microbial biopesticides, beneficial insects, and entomopathogenic fungi while designing and conducting bioassays, releasing natural enemies, and analyzing field and lab data.
